MMA is a tough sport in which both you and your gear are pushed to the limit. That’s why you need to be able to rely on your equipment. In MMA, a single moment can decide victory or defeat. Don’t waste a single thought on your gear. Does my MMA short fit securely? Is my glove firmly stabilized on my wrist? With the right equipment, you can fully focus on your next strike or takedown. In our MMA shop, you’ll find exactly the right products to shape your training and competition according to your expectations.
MMA Lifestyle
In no other martial art is the lifestyle embraced as intensely as in Mixed Martial Arts. In the early days, fighters impressed audiences with their unique MMA shorts, which became a trademark of the sport. Special rash guards were developed for training, as Gis were no longer worn in fights. Rash guards protect you from mat burn during training. Modern rash guards are beautifully designed pieces available in a wide range of colors and patterns—there’s virtually nothing that doesn’t exist. In our MMA shop, you’ll also find many other products that allow you to show your passion for MMA, whether on the street or in training. MMA T-shirts from Venum are especially popular and available in a wide selection.
From Freak Show to High-Performance Sport
Until just a few years ago, MMA was not considered its own sport. The idea of mixed martial arts is hundreds of years old, but what was missing the right platform where complete fighters could compete against each other. The first truly successful platform—still thriving today—was the UFC - Ultimate Fighting Championship. For the first time, it brought together athletes from completely different martial arts backgrounds. As a result, the early UFC events sometimes looked like unusual combat spectacles, where karate practitioners faced boxers and grapplers competed against barroom brawlers in jeans. As the sport evolved, it became clear that no fighter from a single discipline could succeed in MMA alone. The sport is too complex and demanding to rely on just one martial art. The term Mixed Martial Arts—the blending of fighting styles—was born. Fighters began combining different disciplines. Today, elements of Muay Thai, boxing, and karate are used in stand-up fighting, while BJJ, wrestling, and judo are trained for the ground game. Many competitors achieve success in their original discipline before transitioning to MMA. Training has evolved into a complete package of technique and athleticism, which is why today’s MMA professionals are true elite high-performance athletes.
