Leone 1947 – Boxing Equipment & Fight Gear from Italy
Leone 1947 is an Italian combat sports brand with deep roots in boxing. Founded in 1947, the brand has grown from traditional boxing equipment into a broad range of fight gear for boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai and other combat sports.
At KHUNPON, you can discover Leone boxing equipment and fight gear including boxing gloves, boxing shoes, shin guards, fight shorts, heavy bags and protective equipment. Whether you are just starting out or training several times a week, Leone offers equipment for a wide range of athletes and training styles.
Leone 1947 – Italian Boxing Heritage Since 1947
The history of Leone began in Italy in 1947 when Orlando Leone founded the company after gaining experience in the leather goods industry.
His passion for boxing led the company to focus on equipment specifically designed for the sport. Leone quickly established itself within Italian boxing and became closely associated with the country's boxing culture.
Over the following decades, the brand expanded beyond traditional boxing and developed technical equipment for disciplines such as kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA.
Leone Boxing – Born in the Ring
Boxing remains at the heart of the Leone 1947 identity.
From boxing gloves and boxing shoes to headgear, hand wraps, groin guards, focus mitts and heavy bags, Leone offers equipment for many areas of boxing training.
This makes the brand interesting for beginners, experienced athletes, coaches and boxing gyms alike.
Italian Design Meets Combat Sports
Leone combines its boxing heritage with a distinctly Italian visual identity.
Depending on the collection, the designs range from traditional boxing aesthetics to modern graphics, metallic details and bold color combinations.
Collections such as DNA, Revo, Black Edition, Iconic and Primal Instinct give athletes different ways to combine their equipment within a consistent Leone look.

The Leone range covers many of the products required for regular boxing training.
Depending on your training routine, your setup may include:
- boxing gloves
- boxing shoes
- hand wraps
- headgear
- mouthguards
- groin guards
- focus mitts
- heavy bags
- training accessories
This broad product range allows athletes to build much of their boxing setup around one brand.
Leone Boxing Gloves
Leone boxing gloves are one of the core product categories of the Italian brand.
Leone offers gloves for different experience levels and training purposes, including general training, pad work, heavy bag sessions and sparring.
Depending on the model, you can choose between genuine leather and synthetic materials as well as different weights such as 10, 12, 14 and 16 Oz.
Explore the full selection on our Leone Boxing Gloves page.
Leone Boxing Gloves for Training
For everyday boxing training, the right glove depends on how and how often you train.
Lighter gloves are commonly used for certain types of pad and heavy bag work, while larger gloves are often chosen for sparring. Always follow the requirements of your coach or gym when selecting gloves for partner training.
Leone offers different glove ranges for beginners as well as athletes training several times per week.
Leone Boxing Gloves for Muay Thai & Kickboxing
Leone is no longer exclusively a traditional boxing brand.
Its range also includes gloves and protective equipment suitable for Muay Thai and kickboxing, allowing athletes from different striking disciplines to use Leone gear.
Specific collections and glove constructions may differ in fit and intended use, so always check the individual product specifications before choosing your gloves.
Leone Boxing Shoes
Footwork is one of the foundations of boxing, and Leone boxing shoes are designed around the specific movement patterns of the sport.
Unlike conventional running shoes, boxing shoes focus on controlled multidirectional movement, close contact with the floor and the balance between grip and mobility required for pivots and changes of direction.
Discover the current range on our Leone Boxing Shoes page.
Leone Fight Shorts
Leone also offers technical fight shorts for different combat sports.
Depending on the model, the range includes MMA-style fight shorts as well as shorts designed for boxing, kickboxing or Thai boxing.
The ideal construction depends on your sport: MMA requires freedom of movement for striking and grappling, while boxing and Muay Thai use their own characteristic cuts.

Leone Shin Guards
Leone shin guards are designed for combat sports where kicks form an important part of training.
They are particularly relevant for Muay Thai and kickboxing partner drills and sparring.
Leone offers different constructions ranging from traditional padded shin guards with instep protection to lighter sock-style designs.
Find the current selection under Leone Shin Guards.
Leone Heavy Bags
A Leone heavy bag allows you to work on technique, combinations, footwork, power and conditioning without a training partner.
The Leone range includes traditional boxing heavy bags as well as different sizes and shapes for specific training requirements.
Longer or specially shaped bags can also provide additional target areas for kicks and knees during Muay Thai and kickboxing training.

Leone Protective Gear
Protective equipment becomes particularly important when moving from individual technique training into partner drills and sparring.
Depending on your sport and training session, Leone protective gear includes products such as:
- headgear
- mouthguards
- groin guards
- shin guards
- elbow and knee protection
- additional body protection
Always follow the requirements of your gym, coach or competition rules when choosing protective equipment.
Leone Headgear
Leone headgear is available in different constructions for boxing and other striking disciplines.
Fit, coverage, visibility and closure systems vary between models, making it important to choose the right size and construction for your training.
Headgear can help reduce certain superficial injuries such as cuts and abrasions, but it cannot eliminate impact forces or guarantee protection against concussion or other head injuries.
Leone Hand Wraps
Leone hand wraps are worn underneath boxing gloves to provide additional support around the hands and wrists.
They also absorb sweat before it reaches the inner lining of your gloves, making them an important part of regular boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai training.
Different lengths and materials allow you to choose wraps according to your hand size and preferred wrapping technique.
Leone Mouthguards
A properly fitted mouthguard is an important piece of protective equipment for contact training.
Leone offers different mouthguard options for boxing and other combat sports.
Always follow the fitting instructions of the individual model to achieve a secure and comfortable fit.
Leone Groin Guards
Leone groin guards are available in different constructions for boxing and other combat sports.
The right design depends on your discipline, training requirements and personal preference.
For competition, always check the relevant rules before choosing your protective equipment.
Leone Focus Mitts & Coaching Equipment
Leone does not only produce equipment for fighters. The range also includes focus mitts, pads and coaching equipment for trainers and gyms.
Focus mitts allow coaches to create dynamic combinations and work on accuracy, timing, defensive reactions and footwork.
Larger pads and shields can be used for different striking drills depending on the combat sport.
Leone Equipment for Boxing
Boxing remains the discipline most closely connected to the history of Leone 1947.
A typical boxing setup may include gloves, hand wraps and boxing shoes, with mouthguards, groin protection and potentially headgear added for appropriate partner training and sparring.
Heavy bags and focus mitts can then expand the training options for athletes, coaches and gyms.
Leone Equipment for Kickboxing
Kickboxing equipment combines many elements of traditional boxing gear with additional protection for kicking techniques.
Alongside boxing gloves, wraps and mouthguards, shin guards are therefore commonly used during appropriate partner drills and sparring.
Leone offers equipment across these different categories, making it possible to combine several pieces of your kickboxing setup within the same brand.
Leone Equipment for Muay Thai
Muay Thai adds kicks, knees, elbows and clinch work to the striking repertoire.
Depending on the training session, your equipment may include boxing gloves, hand wraps, mouthguard, groin protection and shin guards.
Leone also offers pads and coaching equipment for trainers working with Thai boxing combinations.
Leone Equipment for Beginners
If you are new to combat sports, you do not need to buy every piece of equipment immediately.
For boxing, gloves and hand wraps are usually among the first personal items. Additional protective equipment becomes more relevant as you progress into partner drills and sparring.
Ask your coach which products you actually need before investing in your complete setup.
Leone Equipment for Experienced Fighters
As your training becomes more frequent, individual preferences become increasingly important.
You may prefer separate gloves for heavy bag work and sparring, a particular style of headgear or a specific fit for your boxing shoes and protective equipment.
Leone's broad range provides options across different training levels and product categories.
Leone Gear for Sparring
Sparring requires different equipment from solo heavy bag or pad training.
Depending on your combat sport and gym rules, your setup may include appropriately sized sparring gloves, a mouthguard, groin protection and additional protective equipment.
Muay Thai and kickboxing training may also require shin guards.
Leone Gear for Competition
Competition equipment may be subject to specific rules established by the relevant federation or event organizer.
Requirements can apply to gloves, protective equipment, colors, clothing and approved models.
Always check the current rules for your event rather than assuming that your regular training gear can automatically be used in competition.
Leone Equipment for Boxing Clubs & Combat Sports Gyms
Leone also offers equipment for coaches, boxing clubs and combat sports gyms.
Heavy bags, focus mitts, pads and other coaching equipment can be used across a wide range of training sessions and athlete levels.
This makes Leone relevant not only for individual fighters but also for professional training environments.
Leone DNA
Leone DNA is one of the most recognizable collections within the modern Leone range.
The distinctive design appears across multiple equipment categories, allowing athletes to combine products such as boxing gloves and protective gear within a consistent look.
The collection is particularly recognizable for its black-and-gold aesthetic and prominent Leone branding.
Leone Revo
The Leone Revo range offers a more modern and visually striking interpretation of the brand's fight gear.
Revo products appear across different equipment categories, making the collection particularly interesting for athletes who want their gloves and protective gear to share a consistent design language.
Leone Primal Instinct
Primal Instinct is another Leone collection available across different areas of combat sports equipment.
The range combines modern graphics with equipment designed for regular striking training.
Depending on current availability, matching gloves and protective gear can be combined within the collection.
Leone Black Edition
For fighters who prefer a more understated aesthetic, the Leone Black Edition range focuses on predominantly black designs.
The look is available across different areas of the Leone range and offers an alternative to the more colorful DNA, Revo and Primal Instinct collections.
Leather or Synthetic Leone Equipment?
Leone uses different materials depending on the product and model.
Within the boxing glove range, for example, you can find both genuine leather and synthetic options. Protective equipment and training gear may use different combinations of synthetic materials, textiles and padding.
Rather than choosing purely by material, consider your training frequency, intended use, fit and budget.
How to Choose Your Leone Gear
Start with your combat sport and the type of training you do most often.
- Boxing: prioritize boxing gloves, hand wraps and suitable footwear
- Muay Thai: add shin guards and sport-specific protective equipment
- Kickboxing: combine boxing equipment with suitable shin protection
- Heavy bag training: choose appropriate gloves and a bag suited to your training
- Sparring: follow your gym's requirements for gloves and protective gear
Fit and intended use should always take priority over appearance alone.
How to Care for Leone Fight Gear
Combat sports equipment is regularly exposed to sweat and moisture.
Remove gloves, protective equipment and clothing from your gym bag after training and allow them to dry in a well-ventilated area.
Clean surfaces according to the instructions for the specific material and wash textile products such as hand wraps regularly.
Proper care can help keep your equipment hygienic and in good condition for longer.
